At this posting, I want to show you what I do if I am not sewing or writing. Especially in the colder months of the year I am knitting.

These are the results of the last cold months:

All this scarfs were made in 2010. The longest one is the 2,76m scarf, the smallest ones has 0,60m and 0,86m and were made for kids.

The knitware of 2011 will be posted soon. Too bad, I didn't make a picture of everything I've knitted, so some objects are missing.

Status of the actual piece of knitting:

Scarf with included wristlets - 3/4 already done!
It's made out Gedifra "Belisana" wool, which is a 70% mohair, 15% wool, and 15% nylon yarn. The salesman says, the color is purple (color code 7206), but I'd say the color is lilac.

A picture of the wristlet-scarf will follow after finishing.

Mr. Henson

Hey guys!

Let me introduce you to someone very special. He is shy though I was able to arrange a little photoshoot with him.

THIS is Mr. Henson!

His friend, Mrs. Bark, has already found a new home before I was able to take a photo of her. She was/is a black Terrier.

Mr. Henson is a red one - although the fabric looks strange magenta on the photo. Mr. Henson has a little bell on his dog's collar, so the cats can hear him coming. ;)

And YES, the background is the sweet corn-fabric I talked about in the last posting.

Hey guys!

I am working on new sewings, at the moment. This time it will be some Kindle sleeves and maybe some wristlets, too. Pictures will follow as soon as I have some more sleeves to show you.

But I can tell you... the FABRICS!!!!

Cute checked pattern, cactuses, owls, sweet corn, asian silk... and for the trimming some nice laces, pearls, bows and little bells.

I really need to make some pictures for you!

Back to reality

Hi everybody!

I am back from my Ireland vacation! It was beautiful! A bit rainy, but sunshine the most of the time :) Now I have new inspirations, a head full of ideas and dreams and new fabrics in my stockroom :)

To give a short review:

- Scull corset: since 3 years unfinished
- Surcote (sideless gown): still in process

I hope that I have more time to sew in the next weeks. There are some nice ideas in my head... :D

I sewed another bag - crash course for a friend of mine. Honey, I hope, the bag was a great birthday present for your friend! :D

And I sewed an apron for Caythlyn... a green one with big marguerites on it. And a funny cow ironed on the front of the apron :) Dear Cay - have fun with it!! May your cookies never turn into coal! :D

Hello everybody!

Is there an English word for "Schludri"? I think, "lazybones" is the right word - especially for me! *giggle*

But I have to say, I was not as lazy as you might think! Here is the result:

A lovely tunnel for cats! Made of alpine printed fabric from IKEA and teddy-fabric. Very cuddly.

And - as a special treat - you can open the tunnel, so your cat can scratch her claws on the IKEA-side or can sleep on the cuddly one.

After a few weeks without a concrete sewing-project, I startet first with cutting some pattern pieces for an elven dress... and yes, I've forgotten to buy fabrics for a sample piece (sometimes I am soooo... oblivious... NARF!!!)

So I reconsidered my idea with the elven dress and startet an other project - the sideless gown! At the moment, I am sewing a sample piece of it - but more about that in a seperate posting.

I want to show you some bags I've sewn "by the way"... The first one is a bag with turnable design. The first side is pinstriped, the other one is beige.

The second bag I want to show you is made out of Hello Kitty fabric. The lining simply consists of purple scrim.

Disaster #1

It was about a half year ago, I startet the first time with my corsage.

I didn't want to take the chinese fabric I've bought first, so I took the one with little skulls & bones. This one is better to sew, because it's not so slippery like the chinese silk.

BUT - nevertheless there were loooots of problems!

First I made a sample - just to see if there are some modifications I have to make. And what should I say? It was perfect! NO MODIFICATIONS!! Yay!

But I laughed too soon...

The "real" corsage was not as easy as the sample. There were 4 plies, a clasp and lots of steel...

After two sewing-meetings the corsage was finally finished - almost...

Before I make the final stitches, I wanted to fit it... And look, who's talking... IT DOESN'T FIT!! F***!

There are cuttlings on the sides (too less steel - get more steel in in!) and the cups are to big (make the cups smaller - on all 4 plies!!)... I don't like it... I think, I'm gonna put it away for a while. Maybe I'll finish it in a few weeks... months... years... Who knows?
